I played 10 online games that promised money. Dream11. MPL. Winzo. Loco. Rummy. Poker. Ludo. Carrom. Fantasy cricket. Fantasy football.
- Here's my balance after 3 months:
- Deposited: ₹10,000
- Withdrawn: ₹1,500
- Net loss: ₹8,500

My cousin won ₹25,000 on Dream11 last IPL season. He posted on Instagram. Everyone celebrated.
What he didn't post: He had lost ₹40,000 over the previous 2 years.
Net profit over 2 years: -₹15,000.

He still plays. He still loses. But he only posts wins.
I decided to test online games myself. 3 months. ₹10,000 budget. Here's what happened.
1. The Math – Why 95% Lose Money in Online Games
Every online game takes 10-20% of the entry fee as "platform fee".
Example: 100 players pay ₹100 each = ₹10,000 pool. Game app takes 15% = ₹1,500. Remaining ₹8,500 goes to winners.
If 10 players win, they share ₹8,500. Average win ₹850 per winner.
Each winner paid ₹100 entry. Net profit ₹750.
But for 10 winners, there are 90 losers. Each loser loses ₹100.
The app always wins. Winners are few. Losers are many.
2. My 3-Month Experiment – Game by Game
Dream11 (Fantasy Cricket) Deposited: ₹3,000. Played 40 contests. Won: ₹800. Withdrew: ₹500 (minimum). Net loss: ₹2,500.
MPL (Multiple Games – Ludo, Fruit Chop, Fantasy) Deposited: ₹2,000. Played 30 contests. Won: ₹300. Withdrew: ₹0 (minimum ₹1,000). Net loss: ₹2,000.
Winzo (Carrom, Pool, Fantasy) Deposited: ₹2,000. Played 25 contests. Won: ₹400. Withdrew: ₹200 (minimum ₹500 – couldn't reach). Net loss: ₹1,800.
Loco (Fantasy Cricket) Deposited: ₹1,500. Played 20 contests. Won: ₹200. Withdrew: ₹0. Net loss: ₹1,500.
Rummy Circle (Rummy) Deposited: ₹1,500. Played 15 contests. Won: ₹250. Withdrew: ₹0. Net loss: ₹1,250.
Total deposited: ₹10,000. Total withdrawn: ₹1,200 (plus ₹300 stuck). Net loss: ₹8,500.
🎯 CTR BURSTER: "I lost 85% of my money. You might do better. But the math says 95% of players lose. Are you in the 5%? Probably not. Play for fun, not for income."
3. The Addiction Trap – Why You Keep Playing
Online games use psychology to keep you hooked:
Near wins – You lose by 2 runs. You think "next time I'll win."
Small wins – You win ₹50. You deposit ₹200 to win more.
Leaderboards – You see top winners. You think you can be there.
Notifications – "Your friend just won ₹5,000!" (They don't show losses.)
Free bonuses – "Deposit ₹500, get ₹500 free." But you need to play 10x to withdraw.
This is gambling. Legal gambling. But gambling.
What you should do: Set a monthly loss limit. ₹500 max. Once reached, stop. Never chase losses.
4. Who Actually Makes Money from Online Games?
Only 3 types of people make money:
Professional players – Play 8 hours daily, analyze data, use multiple accounts, have insider knowledge. Less than 1% of players.
App owners – They take 10-20% of every contest. They always win.
Referrers – People who get paid for bringing new players. They earn from your losses.
You are not a professional. You have a job or studies. You cannot compete with someone who plays 8 hours daily.
5. What You Should Do Instead
If you enjoy online games:
Play only free contests. No money.
Or play with ₹10 entry max. Treat as entertainment, not investment.
Set a monthly budget. Once gone, stop.
If you want real money:
Learn a skill (copywriting, design, coding) – free on YouTube.
Join Fiverr or Upwork.
Earn ₹500-2,000/hour guaranteed.
Real Example – The One Winner I Know
My friend won ₹1 lakh on Dream11 once. He played for 3 years. Total deposited: ₹2 lakh. Total withdrawn: ₹1.5 lakh. Net loss: ₹50,000.
He still plays. He still loses. But he posts every win on Instagram.
Don't believe Instagram. They don't show losses.
Have you played online games for money? Did you win or lose?
Tell me the truth. I won't judge.
