I have a rule: I don’t read “today technology news in english” before 10 AM.
Why? Because my morning should be for me, not for the noise of the world. If a tech story is truly important, it will still be important at 10 AM.
This simple rule changed my life. I stopped waking up to anxiety. I started my day with clarity. And you know what? I didn’t miss anything.
The tech news cycle is designed to hook you early. The first stories of the day are often the most sensational, because they want your attention before you’ve had coffee. By waiting, you let the dust settle. You avoid the hype.
Here’s what I do instead:
- Morning: No news. I read a book, go for a walk, meditate, have breakfast with family.
- 10 AM: I spend 15 minutes on tech news. I pick one story to read deeply.
- Evening: If I have time, I glance at headlines, but I rarely read anything new.
This structure gives me control. I’m not reacting to alerts. I’m choosing what to consume.
I also use a few other tactics:
- I use RSS feeds instead of social media. I subscribe to a few tech blogs that publish long‑form, and I read them in a reader without distractions.
- I turn off notifications. No news app is allowed to buzz my phone.
- I delete apps that are designed for addiction. If an app is just a list of headlines with no depth, I uninstall it.
Try it. Tomorrow morning, don’t open the news. Read a book. Go for a walk. Meditate. Then, after you’ve had your tea, check the tech news if you want.
You’ll be surprised how much calmer you feel.
